Currently in development, this production is an online series, presented by Indigenous Journalist Ryan Liddle, Anangu elder Craig Woods and co produced by Adam & Victoria Morgan from Imara Films.
YARNIN’ focusses on issues of young men finding their way in life, balancing 21st century commitments with maintaining culture, and what can be learnt from traditional Indigenous knowledge/elder teachings and vice versa. The mutual love of football, will uncover what’s great about the game and how it can be utilised as a tool for positive change in areas like health, leadership and wellbeing.
This 6 part series, brings together players & coaches from the remote SANFL APY League to yarn with urban AFL luminaries at their big city home grounds. Ryan and Craig ’go deep’ on 21st Century issues in cities and in deserts. In a quest to open up with First Nations Australians about their country, culture and community. The most remote football teams on the planet yarn with Australia’s AFL stars about traditional teachings from both cultures. In turn, they take their famous AFL counterparts onto the APY red desert home lands, to yarn and stay a while. We talk, we laugh, we may even cry, as we walk a mile in each other's shoes and learn from each other.
In November 2024 we travelled to KURRKU, NT - Ryan Liddle's Homelands and met up with the Production team Co Producers Craig Jurpurrula Woods, Ryan Liddle, Adam Morgan, Director Jack Steele and Production manager Victoria Morgan.
It was a great opportunity to write and format the story arc, location scout and well just Yarn. Thanks to our supporters from the Australian Cultural Fund.
